JICA Technical Cooperation Project

E-Waste Alam Alliance
Prior to the current JICA Technical Cooperation Project, “The Development Model For E-waste Collection, Segregation & Transportation from Household For Recycling “ had conducted in Penang Island. As a follow-up of this pilot project, “E-Waste Alam Alliance” was established to enhance the collaboration among the players of household e-waste management including collectors and recyclers, and even local authorities.

The waste from electric and electronic manufacturing industries, also defined as industrial “E-waste” is controlled under the manifest system called “e-SWIS” or “Electronic Scheduled Waste Information System” in accordance with the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Waste) Regulations 2005 (P.U. (A) 294/2005) under the Environmental Quality Act 1974.
